Transcendental

Today's blog is a portrait of Falun Dong practitioners caught in action in a Montréal Chinatown square. The scene was chosen for the exceptional character of the subjects and the backdrop. The subjects in the forefront are in an obvious quite conversation so as to to cause as less disturbance as possible for the follower in the rear. This quietness, the moment, the trance of the experience is what I wanted to capture on an Asian decor backdrop to create this scene. The exposition and framing are well thought out and the natural light, although more prominent on the follower, is well exploited.

Le blogue d'aujourd'hui met en lumière un portrait de pratiquants du Falun Dong captés en action dans un square du quartier chinois à Montréal. La scène a été choisi pour la nature exceptionnelle des sujets et de l'arrière plan. Les sujets en avant-plan sont en conversation à bas volume afin de ne pas déranger au possible le pratiquant en arrière plan. Ce moment, cette spiritualité de l'expérience, est ce que j'ai voulu capter sur un arrière plan au décor asiatique pour le contexte. L'exposition et le cadrage sont bien pensées et la lumière naturelle, quoique dominante sur le pratiquant en arrière plan, est bien exploitée.
