Erik Ravelo - Los Intocables in the Berri Trench

Today's Blog features Photography of another piece of art. We periodically Photograph art from installations and shows around the city. Here : Fantastic Photographs from internationally renowned Photographer Erik Ravelo - http://erikravelo.info/los-intocables/ - The subject is controversial and obvious, a denouncement of abuse and doctrines of power. We had several challenges for this one series.

To start with, the Berri underpass isn't the easiest of places to shoot as it is extremely busy with traffic and the sidewalk space is quite narrow. You are therefore subjected to loud noise, dust and speeding vehicles in the trench. As well, the light in the trench isn't ideal and the pieces had their backs to the sun. This however produced an opportunity for us as we have always excelled in camera settings for these situations. We have succeeded in exposing the subject accordingly and we found solutions to exploit the contre jour techniques to our advantage. Moreover, we have worked the white balance to warm up the otherwise cold light and concrete. Also, notice how void of motor vehicles the frames are ; this is not a coincidence, we insisted on leaving a maximum of space and stillness to Erik's pieces and their temporary set in the urban trench. And finally, in this type of Photojournalism, you need to speak of and plug the Artist you are featuring.

These are part of the Mouvement Art Public installations throughout the city.
