Random CityScapes

CityScapes can sometimes become redundant, particularly when your city subject is always the same. We've all seen the same popular perspectives of popular buildings and places in Montreal. How do you show the city in a different way but still produce striking images ; not an easy task. It is a challenge to compose new interesting street corners, buildings and cityscapes in such a way that it will attract attention perhaps even admiration. Finding new un-photographed places in Montreal is also a challenge but finding some great places that aren't over exploited is easy ; Montreal is a wealth for street and architecture Photography

Here we have 4 images from our series Montréal Métro - Random Montreal & Montréal Métro - Le super Hôpital du CHUM. We dabble in touristic cityscapes images a lot, and these works need linear concepts to make sens. So when we go out to picture the city, we take as many interesting shots as we can. Hence we sometimes need to discard some more random shots that don't fit in a linear concept. We then revisit these discarded images and find that some less than ordinary images are worth a second look.
