Photography made difficult - escalator : Bottleneck of existence

Photography made difficult : how can you make escalators meaningful to look at? how to make this rather static subject relevant and dynamic? how can escalators mean more than just a mechanical infrastructure? Are they more than just that?

Is the Photographer more than just a technician? Is he more than just a specialist for capturing images accordingly? Well, I think asking the question is answering it. The Photographer is an artist. And like any other artist, the artist Photographer creates images to trigger dialog, thoughts and reflections.

What if the escalator was far more than just a mechanical infrastructure designed to carry people up and down flights of buildings? Of course that is all they were meant for. But through the decades they have become far more and artists now this for a fact.

escalator : Bottleneck of existence

Some of these escalators have transported millions of souls : workers & villains ; happy & shattered souls ; saints & bandits ; passerby & street people ; scientists & dinner waiters ; enlightened & dark matter ; traffickers & lifesavers ; stars & outcasts ; missionaries & wanderers ;  the dead & the living... escalators carry a heavy significance. Can the artist Photographer capture all this meaning through his glass?
